Job Title: Data Center Engineer

Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and driven professional to join our global team as Data Center Engineer for our location in Germany Freiburg The Data Center Engineer is a hands-on senior technologist role with broad responsibility across network, server, and telco infrastructure disciplines. Reporting to the Manager, Global IT Infrastructure, this position is responsible for:

  • Working within a globally distributed team to design, deploy and administer company server, network, and telco systems
  • Performing break/fix troubleshooting through multiple layers of infrastructure
  • Developing and adhering to company standards in process, system design, service levels, and security
  • Mentoring technicians in lower IT support tiers; collaborating with other engineers, IT functional team members, and business leaders during project and problem lifecycles
  • Responding to critical situations during and outside of normal working hours

Job Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of IP networking concepts and troubleshooting
  • Advanced working experience with various network technologies such as firewalls, switches, access points, routers and telecom switches
  • Expert in Active Directory, user management, and Group Policy
  • Window Server operating systems and foundational Microsoft server systems including Exchange and SQL Server
  • Server virtualization on-premises and in the cloud
  • Microsoft 365 management and support; AWS and Azure infrastructure operations
  • VOIP configuration and support
  • Expert in desktop and mobile operating systems
  • Specific familiarity with Fortinet, Nutanix, Rubrik, Extreme Networks, Riverbed or Avaya is helpful

Required Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Several years of experience in a network or systems administrator role at a Tier 2 or Tier 3 level
  • BA/BS or equivalent work Exp
